Gould Services is establishing a new offshore support facility at the Port of Vlissingen, the Netherlands.
Located at the Eerste Binnenhaven, the purpose-built facility will occupy an area of 6,000m2 which will include a 175m quayside for moring vessels, a warehouse, as well as office and accommodation premises.
The new short stay accommodation will comprise 60 rooms and will enable offshore personnel to stay in Vlissingen when changing services or due to weather downtime.
In order to expand and consolidate its business, Gould Services said it will relocate its head office from Middelburg to the new location.
The Dutch company believes the location can provide faster turnarounds of staff and equipment to offshore locations due to Vlissingen’s close proximity to offshore wind projects and the new office and dockside facilities close to each other.
In addition, the city of Vlissingen agreed to change its local allocation plan to meet the company’s on-site accommodation requirements, the company stated.
