Indian Oil Corporation is reportedly seeking a liquefied natural gas cargo to use for the commissioning purposes of its Ennore LNG terminal at the Kamarajar port.

Citing industry sources, Reuters reports the company has sought a partial cargo to be delivered on February 25. Bids are to be submitted by February 11.

It was reported last week that the Ennore LNG facility is to be commissioned by the end of January, however, the latest report indicates the process could be delayed.

The facility being developed by Indian Oil Corporation through its joint venture company, Indian Oil LNG will have the capacity to handle 5 million tons of LNG per year, equivalent to around 20 million cubic meters per day.

It is the first LNG import facility on the eastern coast of India, and the regasified LNG will be distributed to power generation plants, fertilizer plants and other industrial units as well as transport sector, commercial sector and households.
