South Korea’s shipbuilding giant Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has received an order to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier for a Greek company.

The shipyard received an order to build an LNG carrier for Maran Gas Maritime, a unit of the Angelicoussis Shipping Group, capable of transporting 174,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel.

The company is expected to complete the vessel by the first half of 2021. The company didn’t provide the value of the contract due to a confidentiality agreement.

So far in 2019, the company won $740 million worth of orders to build seven ships, including oil tankers, with an aim to reach $8 billion worth of new orders in 2019, up 10 percent from last year’s order target.

For the whole of 2018, the shipyard was able to fulfill 93 percent of its annual order target of $7.3 billion. Namely, DSME was able to pick up $6.81 billion in orders for a total of 47 vessels, 18 of which were LNG carriers .
