Jonas Kamf has recently taken over as CEO of the Gothenburg-based wave power plant company Waves4Power.
Kamf has been the marketing manager for the company since 2012.
Waves4Power is now entering a new phase of development work and commercialization. The company aims to produce the first of a number of commercial wave power plant parks and is now seeking strong financial partners / investors.
Potential customers for the first commercial application are the offshore oil and gas industry, the aquaculture industry with “sea” aquaculture facilities, and larger and smaller island communities where a green energy alternative is lacking.
Kamf started his career with sales and product development and then had management functions within the advertising industry. In 2010, he was appointed as marketing manager in Frog Maringe Group, and from there in 2011 to the newly started BlueOrbits where he was also co-owner and was responsible for marketing and business development. Alongside this, Kamf has worked as a consultant within marketing strategy and business development for a Norwegian company within marine entrepreneurship and diving.
This is how Kamf sees his new mission for Waves4Power: “ Waves4Power has a strong vision – to contribute actively to a globally better future by being the first company in the world to offer green energy solutions based on wave power. We work purposefully to realize our vision by taking a leading position when it comes to replacing fossil fuels based on CO2-free wave power.
“The commercial wave power plants that we are currently working on will be technologically based on “Next Generation” wave power plants, which means that one uses the experience the company has and the technological innovations that are available.
“This means that the basic technology is improved with optimized system solutions and adapted for mass production. This is crucially important in view of a competitive LCOE ((leveled cost of electricity) and commercial sustainability and profitable production .”
