The Portsmouth City Council is currently conducting the repair works on the Bandstand sea defense scheme.

This primary coastal defense protects historic buildings and recreational land from flooding and erosion.

Norse Commercial Services Ltd. was appointed by the city council to undertake the repairs, with a start date of Monday, 25th February, 2019.

It is expected that these works will last no longer than two weeks.

“The promenade will remain open during the works. The contractor will install appropriate signs and barrier fencing to inform the public of a safe access route,” the council stated.

The works are to be funded by the Portsmouth City Council.
