The process of sand pumping at Noosa’s Main Beach officially started last week, the Queensland’s Noosa Shire Council said in its latest announcement.

The key objective of the project is to ensure appropriate levels of sand remain on the beach to meet community and business needs, and to maintain service level expectations.

Recovered sand is being pumped through 1,500 meters of entrenched pipeline for beach disposal at the high-water mark at a number of disposal locations along Main Beach.

The operations and levels of service are aligned with the objectives of the Noosa Corporate Plan, said the council.

A strategy under the Corporate Plan is to enable an active and healthy community.
