AML Oceanographic has secured a deal to supply Moving Vessel Profiler (MVP) systems for Fugro’s unmanned surface vessel (USV).
The USV solution, designed for medium- to large-scale hydrographic survey applications, is currently in development with L3 ASV, and the first unit is scheduled for delivery in Q2 2019.
“ Fugro considers MVP to be a critical component for the success of our USV strategy,” said Wim Herijgers , director Innovation Marine for Fugro.
“ The MVP is already capable of profiling automatically and continuously without human intervention. We see this adaptation of MVP for autonomous vessels as a natural progression aligned with the future of hydrographic surveying and ocean research, ” added Pete Reedeker , AML’s vice president of Deployment Systems.
Both MVP systems are scheduled for delivery in Spring 2019.
