Singapore-based gas shipping giant BW Group on Friday said it has taken delivery of its newbuild FSRU from the South Korean Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME).

The HN 2488 has been named BW Magna at the shipyard last month.

BW Group said in its previous social media statement that the vessel capable of transporting 173,400 cubic meters of LNG will be deployed for GNA’s (Gás Natural Açu) Port Açu project in Brazil.

GNA said through its social media channels the vessel is expected to arrive in Brazil in 2020, and will be capable of regasifying 21 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.

Regasified volumes will be used to power the GNA’s thermoelectric power plants in the Port of Acu in Rio de Janeiro state.
