Triton Knoll Electrical Work to Begin End of March

The key works to connect the onshore and offshore electrical circuits of the Triton Knoll offshore wind project are set to start at the end of March, according to the project developer.

The activities will take place at the project’s landfall location north of Anderby Creek, the UK, and will include Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) work expected to be completed by the end of June.

According to Triton Knoll, two 900m long ducting tunnels will be installed beneath the beach and sand dunes, avoiding the sea-defenses, ready for the installation of high voltage electrical cable next year.

Boskalis will install the two landfall export cable ducts and two offshore High Voltage Export Cables and will subcontract Volker Trenchless Solutions (VTS) to carry out the HDD works

Triton Knoll is also holding a Community Drop-in Session in order to make sure the local people are informed of the works and their likely impacts.

The event will take place on 20 March from 4:30 until 19:00 local time at Anderby Village Hall in Lincolnshire.

In addition, a 24-hour contact will be available on site during the works, who will be able to assist in the unlikely event of an emergency on-site or to manage any issues which require immediate resolution.

The 860MW Triton Knoll offshore wind farm will comprise 90 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines scheduled for commissioning in 2021.
