The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) and Delta Wilmar CIS have identified priority measures for the implementation of the next project of public-private partnership in the Port of Yuzhny, Odessa region in south-western Ukraine.

Under the plan , private investors will build a new berth (No. 37), soybean processing plant, storage and transshipment facilities for liquid and bulk agricultural cargo.

In turn, the state enterprise will conduct dredging works to form the operational water area and the approach channel to the new berth, USPA said in their latest release.

Commenting the agreement, the Head of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, Raivis Veckagans , said: “This is the fourth public-private partnership project in the Port of Yuzhny. We already have a good experience of working with private investors in this format.”

The next step in the implementation of the project will be the conclusion of an agreement between USPA and Delta Wilmar CIS, which will regulate the obligations of each party, as well as the deadlines for completing the work at each of the stages.
