European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) has awarded a contract to Bryan J Rendall Electrical (BJRE) for the provision of electrical support to the maintenance and operations of marine energy test sites in Orkney, Scotland.

The electrical support framework agreement has a total value of GBP 250.000, according to the tender notice published on Welsh government’s procurement portal Sell2Wales.

BJRE has already worked as the electrical consultant and contractor to EMEC on Orkney. BJRE has amassed a wide range of experience in terminating and testing submarine cables for both EMEC and the developers of wave and tidal devices who use the facilities that EMEC provide.

The company works closely with EMEC testing facility on electrical operations and maintenance, at both the wave site at Billia Croo near Stromness, and the tidal site at the Falls of Warness off Eday.
