Jack-Up Barge’s vessel JB-115 has commenced work on the offshore substation of the Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm in Germany.

The Dutch company is responsible for the hook-up and commissioning services of the offshore substation at the 269MW project.

The substation’s jacket foundation and topside were installed at the offshore site by heavy lift vessel Seaway Strashnov at the beginning of April.

Deutsche Bucht will comprise a total of 33 8.4MW MHI Vestas turbines installed on 31 monopile foundations and two mono bucket foundations located 95km offshore the Borkum Island.

The offshore wind farm is expected to be commissioned by the end of the year.
