SHI scores eighth LNG carrier order of 2019

South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries has booked a new order for a liquefied natural gas carrier.

South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries has booked a new order for a liquefied natural gas carrier.

The company said in a brief statement the order worth 222 billion South Korean Won ($189.7 million) from an unnamed shipowner.

This brings the company’s order tally for the year up to eight liquefied natural gas carriers.

SHI added in its brief statement that the current orders total for the year stands at eight LNG carriers and 1 FPSO for a total of $2.6 billion.
