North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP) has unveiled a plan to conduct maintenance and repair works at Half Tide Tug Harbor from May 16-22.

According to the NQBP’s official announcement, the works will include:

These maintenance works, aimed to improve access for recreational boaters, will be undertaken using a land-based long reach excavator to remove the build-up of sand at the boat ramp.

Work will take place from 8am to 6.30pm Thursday, 16 May, and Friday, 17 May, 2019.

These works will repair and reinstate the bottom sections of the floating walkway damaged earlier this year. Works will start from 6am Monday, 20 May, and are expected to be completed by 5pm Wednesday, 22 May, 2019.

“The boat ramp and the floating walkway will be closed during these works for safety operational purposes,” said NQBP in its release.

“NQBP have planned the works with the community in mind to ensure the least disruption possible. This includes ensuring boat users will have access to the boat ramp over the weekend on Saturday 18, and Sunday, 19 May.”
