Chief executive officer of Edda Accommodation and former CEO of Norwegian shipping company Østensjø Rederi has retired from his role in the company.
According to the two companies, Edda Accommodation CEO Johan Rokstad retired on Friday, May 24.
The managing director role of Edda Accommodation has now been transferred to Kenneth Walland , the current CEO of Østensjø.
Rokstad started his career in Østensjø Rederi as captain of Østensjø’s supply vessels and has been with Østensjø for 40 years, 18 of which as CEO – from 1998 to 2016.
The company added that Rokstad worked closely with the accommodation segment in recent years and the hotel ship Edda Fides.
In 2016, Edda Accommodation was demerged to its own management company, and Rokstad has since been the CEO of the company.
Regarding his departure, Rokstad said: “This is a planned departure from the company. I am grateful for the journey I have been a part of, and the work we have all done together to make the Østensjø group a leading supplier of maritime services.
“Owner, Johannes Østensjø, has made it possible for us to focus on innovation and build new concepts. I am particularly proud of the adventure with Edda Fides and the concept Edda Accommodation.”
Kenneth Walland added: “Johan Rokstad has had great significance for the solid development in the company and can take much of the credit for the position the Østensjø group has today. I look forward to continuing to build on the adventure with Edda Fides and Edda Accommodation together with talented colleagues and wish Rokstad good luck as a retiree.”
