Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners is to invest USD 1.3 billion in Venture Global’s 10 MTPA Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

Venture Global said the latest agreement brought the total committed capital to fund the construction of Calcasieu Pass and the continued development of Venture Global’s 20 MTPA Plaquemines LNG and 20 MTPA Delta LNG facilities to USD 2.2 billion.

The Calcasieu Pass facility has received all necessary permits, including FERC authorization and Non-FTA export authorization from the US Department of Energy, and construction activities are ongoing with over USD 250 million spent on site preparation work, final engineering and equipment purchases and fabrication.

According to Venture Global, the facility’s marine terminal will accommodate LNG carriers up to 185,000 cubic meters in capacity, while two loading docks will allow for flexibility in loading the vessels and scheduling safe operations.

“Calcasieu Pass is already significantly advanced in both site construction and module manufacturing, owing to the USD 855 million raised to date,” Bob Pender, Venture Global Co-CEO, said, adding that the facility would start providing LNG in 2022.
