Oil and gas company Wintershall Dea has dismantled one of its platforms in the Dutch part of the North Sea.

Wintershall Dea said via its social media channels on Friday that it had removed the topside from its E18-A platform on the Dutch Continental Shelf.
According to the company, the topside will now be moved to the Sillimanite field located on both the UK and Dutch parts of the North Sea.
The E18-A, located near and connected to the F16-A manned production platform some 150 kilometers off Den Helder, was installed in 2009 while first gas was produced during the same year.
On board the F16-A, the natural gas from the E18-A field was cooled, dried, and compressed before it was transported via the Noordgastransport gas transportation pipeline system to the onshore gas treatment station in Uithuizen in the north of the Netherlands.
According to the current AIS data, the vessel which removed the platform was Heerema’s deepwater construction vessel (DCV) Aegir. The vessel arrived at the platform on Wednesday, June 12.
As for the topside’s next task, the Sillimanite field is located in the Southern Gas Basin, around 190 kilometers northeast of the Norfolk coast.
The field is located around 12 kilometers northeast of Wintershall Noordzee’s key hub, Wingate, and straddles the UK/Netherlands median line. It was discovered in 2015.
