Japanese utility Tokyo Gas signed a heads of agreement regarding the sale and purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with Sumitomo Joint Electricity Power.

Under the agreement, Tokyo Gas will supply approximately 170,000 tons of LNG per annum to Sumitomo Joint Electricity Power for a period of 5 years extending from FY2021 to FY2025, Tokyo gas said in a statement.

The two companies will build connections with the community and contribute to the development of the Shikoku area, through promoting the use of natural gas and the stable and efficient use of energy, by providing a stable supply of LNG under this agreement.

The two companies will continue to move forward on discussions aimed at the signing of a final sales and purchase contract based on this agreement.
