Italian offshore oil and gas engineering and services company Rossetti Marino has won a contract to perform the competitive FEED design for Shell UK’s Jackdaw platform to be installed offshore on the UK Continental Shelf.
Jackdaw will be an unmanned wellhead platform with a jacket and a deck. Rossetti Marino said the project would be executed by its’ engineering companies Basis Engineering and Tecon in Milan, in cooperation with Genesis in London.
“For Rosetti Marino Group, Jackdaw is extremely strategic as it confirms the experience previously done on West Franklin and Elgin B (with Total UK) in very similar HP-HT environment,” Rosetti Marino said.
The scope of work includes the preparation of all documents needed to assist Shell on the technical and commercial evaluation preparatory for the following EPC stage. The FEED study is already in progress and will be completed at the end of this year, Rosetti Marino said recently.
Rosetti Marino is not the only engineering company working on Shell’s Jackdaw. Norway’s Kvaerner in June said it had , in cooperation with Ramboll, won a deal to perform an early phase design engineering of the platform and to further develop the concept which Shell has chosen for the wellhead platform.
