LS Cable said it has signed a contract with Jan De Nul, to supply about 130 kilometers of submarine cable for the offshore wind farm in western Miaoli County, Taiwan.

The deal will see the Korean company deliver the cables by 2021.

LS Cable has supplied submarine cables to all three of the 10 offshore wind farm projects so far. This announcement follows the recent award by Danish energy company Ørsted .

LS Cable signed a contract worth W110bn in early July, following its first submarine cable contract in January in Taiwan. The total amount of the three orders until the contract is estimated to reach 200 billion won.

The company said it has helped to win orders from Europe, North America and Asia, which have been working with European companies that are leading the offshore wind farm business to carry out projects and gain trust.
