The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) is looking for a project manager to manage the OceanDEMO project.

Educated to degree level in a relevant financial or technical subject, the OceanDEMO Project Manager will oversee the work of the project team to ensure delivery of agreed outputs and will manage other partners in the project.

The Project Manager should have experience in managing teams, influencing people and have excellent communication skills with ability to drive team performance. Experience of working within EU funding mechanisms and the ability to manage multi-million pound budgets is expected.

Based in Orkney, this is a full-time post for a fixed-term to July 2022.

OceanDEMO – Demonstration Programme for Ocean Energy Pilot Farms and Supporting Technologies

Funded by Interreg North-West Europe, OceanDEMO is a €13-million project aiming to accelerate ocean energy’s transition from single prototype to multi-device farms by providing free access to test centres:

EMEC – European Marine Energy Centre, UK – Project leader; DMEC – Dutch Marine Energy Centre, Netherlands; Centrale Nantes/SEM-REV, France; SmartBay – Marine and Renewable Energy Test Site, Ireland.

Launched in January 2019, the OceanDEMO released a first call for applications in May this year for devices that will be installed from 2020 to 2022.
