South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has secured another LNG carrier order from Maran Gas Maritime, part of Angelicoussis Shipping Group.

Under the deal, revealed on August 22, the shipbuilder would construct the 174,000 cbm unit at its Geoje Okpo Shipyard. The new vessel is scheduled for delivery by the fourth quarter of 2021.

Maran Gas has so far this year ordered six LNG carriers from DSME, and the parties are in discussions for further units.

The latest ship will feature advanced partial re-liquefaction system (A-PRS), developed by DSME.

The shipbuilder’s 2019 orderbook currently stands at around USD 3 billion and includes 17 vessels, seven of which are LNG carriers. Other units on order include seven ultra-large crude oil carriers and three submarines.
