Premier Oil has chartered a Vroon Offshore supply vessel to support its offshore drilling operations in the UK Sector of the North Sea.
Vroon said Monday Premier Oil had hired the VOS Patience supply vessel to support the Ensco 123 jack-up rig drilling operations.
Worth noting, t he recently delivered rig is now known as Valaris JU-123 following a recent name change of EnscoRowan to Valaris.
The rig has recently started a three-month contract with Premier Oil, on a dayrate of around $90,000, according to Bassoe Analytics.
According to Vroon Offshore, the VOS Patience started working for Premier Oil under the term contract at the end of July and is scheduled to continue into the fourth quarter of 2019.
The 2017-built PX121-type platform supply vessel was previously in the North Sea spot market, with clients including Total, and BP this year, according to VesselsValue.
MarineTraffic data shows the drilling rig is located in the southern part of the North Sea, where Premier Oil is working to develop the Tolmount field, with first gas expected in Q4 2020.
The Tolmount field development entails four producer wells tied into a minimal facilities platform, a new gas export pipeline to shore and modifications to an existing onshore gas receiving terminal at Easington. Premier last week said it has recently spudded the Tolmount East appraisal well which is targeting 220-300 BCF (P50 to P90) of gross contingent resource.
In the success case, Tolmount East will be tied back to Tolmount to ensure the infrastructure is kept at full capacity.
