Maria Moraeus Hanssen, COO and Deputy CEO of Wintershall Dea, will leave the company on December 31, 2019, to pursue other opportunities.
Until that time, she will continue in her present role providing board-level leadership of the EMEA business units and the merger integration, Wintershall Dea said in a statement on Wednesday.
A recruitment process for her successor is underway, the company added.
“The shareholders, BASF and LetterOne, are most grateful for the significant contribution she has made during her tenure with both the company and DEA,” Wintershall Dea said in the statement.
Moraeus Hanssen, the former boss at Engie’s exploration and production business, took over as DEA Group CEO in January 2018, succeeding Thomas Rappuhn who had spent eight years in the role.
Following the completion of the merger between DEA and Wintershall into Wintershall Dea in May 2019, she was appointed Deputy CEO and COO of the new company.
In related news, Wintershall Dea has marked another significant step towards the completion of its operated Nova project with the end of the installation of the subsea pipelines and umbilicals for the project located in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
