Japanese shipbuilder Japan Marine United (JMU) has handed over a next-generation energy-saving bulk carrier to an unnamed local shipowner.
As informed, the 182,567 dwt Emperor Pampero was delivered to its owner at JMU’s Tsu shipyard on August 29.
VesselsValue data shows that the owner of the Capesize vessel is Japanese shipping company Nissen Kaiun.
With a gross tonnage of 93,722 tons, the newbuild has a length of 292 meters and a width of 45 meters. Having a capacity for 25 crew members, the ship is able to reach a speed of 15.05 knots.
Featuring environmentally-friendly technologies, the bulker is equipped with a SOx scrubber and conforms to IMO sulphur cap entering into force on January 1, 2020.
The Panama-flagged bulker currently has a market value of USD 50.22 million, according to information provided by VesselsValue.
Emperor Pampero is part of a two-ship order placed by Nissen Kaiun back in October 2014.
