Mexican oil company Pemex has chartered two CIMC Raffles-built jack-up drilling rigs on long term contracts.
CIMC last Thursday held a naming and sail-away ceremony for the two 400ft jack-up rigs the Gulf Driller VI and Gulf Driller VIII.
“The two rigs will soon sail to the Gulf of Mexico to provide oil and gas drilling services to PEMEX. Before that, CIMC Raffles and CMIC Ocean signed leasing contracts for the two rigs,” CIMC Raffle said in a statement.
The rigs are of the JU2000E design, equipped with an MHWirth drilling package. They are able to operate at a water depth up to 120 meters (400ft) and drill wells down to 10668 meters (35000ft)
According to Bassoe Analytics, the rigs will be managed by CP Latina, and will begin their respective contracts with Pemex on December 1, 2019. Each rig has been awarded a two-year contract at an estimated dayrate of $90,000, Bassoe has informed.
