Minesto’s Board of Directors and senior management recently visited the Faroe Islands where they engaged in strategy discussions and meetings with key stakeholders.

Minesto’s Board and management team met with the company’s collaboration partner in the Faroe Islands, the electric utility company SEV.

The purpose was to discuss the current joint project to install two Minesto marine energy kite systems in Vestmannasund, as well as the role of Minesto’s tidal energy technology in a future 100 percent renewable energy mix in the Faroe Islands.

In addition to the discussions with SEV, Minesto also met with several other stakeholders during the week.

“We have had a very productive time in the Faroe Islands with valuable discussions with our partner SEV and other key stakeholders. Through this visit we have strengthened the already positive partnership with SEV and developed the dialogue around our common long-term ambition to make Minesto’s technology part of the Faroe Islands’ pioneering energy transition journey ”, said Dr Martin Edlund , CEO of Minesto.

“ We are pleased that our joint project is progressing according to plan and we were happy to welcome the Board of Directors of Minesto to the Faroe Islands. The opportunity to work together during the visit has been significant to the project and the discussion of continued collaboration between SEV and Minesto ”, said Hákun Djurhuus , CEO of SEV.
