Marine energy projects are growing their presence worldwide, making the industry one of the most interesting sectors currently.

According to Peter Scheijgrond, Head of Services at the Dutch Marine Energy Center, there is a pipeline of more than 400 MW of projects to be developed in the UK, Ireland, France, Canada, but also in Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia.

“If we would be able to effectively harness all the energy from water worldwide we would not have an energy problem,” he said.

Scheijgrond explained the significance of marine energy, it’s potentials around the globe and collaboration with the oil and gas sector.

Visit the Marine Energy Pavilion and Marine Energy Event on October 9, as part of the Offshore Energy 2019 in RAI Amsterdam, to meet Peter Scheijgrond.
