GTT scores tank design order for LNG carrier duo

French liquefied natural gas containment system specialist, GTT has received two orders from the Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).

French liquefied natural gas containment system specialist, GTT has received two orders from the Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).

The order concerns the tank design of one new liquefied natural gas carrier for Tsakos and the other one on behalf of Capital Gas Carriers, GTT said.

Each unit will be capable of transporting 174,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas.

GTT will design the tanks of the vessels, which will be fitted with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

The delivery of the ships is planned during the fourth quarter of 2021, the statement reads.
