Dredging preparation works are beginning next week at the Whisper Bay boat ramp, near the VMR in Cannonvale, reports the Whitsunday Regional Council.

As reported, the Council will be setting up in the rigging area to the side of the carpark from next week with no impact to carparks.

Once the dredging begins, there will be a necessary closure of the boat ramp and some of the car park area for approximately one week, weather permitting, the Council said in the notice.

The dredged material will be contained in geotextile tubes and allowed to drain and dry out before removing the dry material and returning the boat trailer car park to normal.

The works are expected to be completed by the start of December 2019 weather pending.
