A petition has been set up calling for UK Government to commercialise the UK tidal stream industry by providing revenue support.
The petition has been created by ‘UK Tidal Energy’, a body created by the Perpetuus Tidal Energy Centre (PTEC) to generate public awareness of marine energy through the #turnthetideontidal campaign.
The goal is to provide a route to market for tidal energy and encourage investment in tidal energy projects around the UK.
At 10,000 signatures, government will respond to this petition.
100,000 signatures are needed for this issue to be debated in parliament and the petition takes 30 seconds to sign.
At the time of this publishing, the petition had 490 signatures.
