The Town of Fairfield, CT, has announced that the South Benson Marina Channel Dredging and Jennings Beach Reclamation Project will begin on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
Mobile Dredge and Video Pipe, Inc. of Chester, PA was awarded the dredging project on September 26, 2019.
According to the town, starting on Wednesday, October 23, the contractor will begin mobilizing equipment and materials in the parking lot adjacent to the Skate Park and on the beach between the Henry C. Moore Pier and the J1 and J2 entrances from the parking lot to Jennings Beach.
During this time, the beach in that area will be closed off to the public as it will be an active construction zone.
As the dredging project continues the material will be placed on the beach starting near the pier and working past Jennings Beach Pavilion.
The deadline for completing this project is January 31, 2019.
