The new Flynns Beach seawall and surrounding improvements are almost finished, reports the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.

Now that works are nearing completion, a planned closure of Tuppenny Road is required to tie in the southern end of works.

The new seawall is part of the first stage of the Flynns Beach Master Plan that commenced in May 2019 and will continue through to November 2019 to make the most of the winter period where beach patronage is typically at its lowest.

The council also added that the final preparations are underway for the start of the dredging in the Settlement Shores canal system, which will begin later in November.

The dredging will ensure the canal system continues to be safe to access for the boating public, whilst also preserving the shoreline and ensuring the stability of canal infrastructure.

Birdon Pty Ltd will undertake the work on behalf of Council, with the dredging expected to be completed by April 2020, including a scheduled shutdown over the Christmas/New Year period.
