ProCon Wind Energy has begun electrical outfitting works for the Yunlin offshore wind project in Taiwan.

The Danish company secured a contract in August to carry out the outfitting of 40 E-modules/Internal cages for Smulders.

ProCon said that the electrical outfitting takes place at Smulders’ site in Antwerp where it has just completed the pre-assembly work for the SeaMade project.

The activities are expected to be completed by February 2020.

The Yunlin offshore wind farm will feature 80 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines installed some 8km offshore and scheduled to come online in 2021.

The 640MW project is 73% owned by wpd and 27% owned by a Sojitz Corp-led consortium which also includes Chugoku Electric Power, Chudenko Corporation, Shikoku Electric Power, and JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation.
