South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries held a keel-laying ceremony for one of two 174,000 cbm LNG carriers ordered by LNG carrier owner and operator GasLog in August 2018.
The keel-laying ceremony took place half a year after the ship started construction in May this year.
The newbuild, with hull number 2300, is part of a broader fleet expansion program undertaken by the Greece-based GasLog.
The company ordered a total of 7 units from Samsung Heavy Industries in 2018. The most recent delivery was the 180,000 cbm GasLog Warsaw , which was delivered in August this year. The remaining seven units on order are scheduled for delivery by 2021.
Once delivered, newbuild 2300 will be chartered by a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cheniere Energy for a firm period of seven years.
