The U.S.-based Disney Cruise Line has entered into a memorandum of agreement for three additional LNG-powered cruise ships with the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.
Disney said that the three new ships would be powered by liquefied natural gas and would be slightly larger than its Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy vessels.
According to the company, the three new vessels will have around 144,000 gross tons and 1,250 guest staterooms.

Earlier this year, Disney Cruise Line revealed the name of the fifth ship in its fleet and the first of three LNG-powered newbuilds ordered from Meyer Werft.
Disney Wish , as it was named, will be delivered in late 2021 and is expected to set sail in January 2022. The other two already ordered LNG-fuelled vessels, still unnamed, were ordered back in 2016 and 2017.
