GTT inks LNG containment tech MoU with China’s BEG

French liquefied natural gas containment system specialist, GTT, signed a memorandum of understanding on LNG containment tech with the Chinese state-owned company Beijing Enterprises Group (BEG).

French liquefied natural gas containment system specialist, GTT, signed a memorandum of understanding on LNG containment tech with the Chinese state-owned company Beijing Enterprises Group (BEG).

The memorandum of understanding concerns the evaluation of membrane full containment technology for LNG onshore storage tanks.

The deal could also include the construction of a number of storage tanks of a capacity exceeding 220,000 cubic meters for the Tianjin Nangang LNG project.

Commenting on the deal, chairman of Beijing Gas Group, a BEG unit, Li Yalan said the collaboration with GTT will lead to the application of membrane technology for the first time in onshore LNG tanks in China.
