Shearwater Adds New Board of Directors Chair

Shearwater GeoServices has appointed Robert Hobbs as the new chair of the board of directors.

Robert Hobbs replaces Karl-Johan Gombrii who has been the chair of the board since Shearwater’s inception in 2016.

Hobbs has 30 years of experience from the oil and gas sector. He served as the CEO of TGS-NOPEC, an international multi-client seismic company until 2016.

“ Shearwater was created with the clear ambition of becoming a leading marine seismic acquisition company. The company has successfully executed on this strategy through strong leadership by Irene and her team, and the support of committed owners and dedicated employees. I am honoured to serve as chair of the Board in Shearwater where I will leverage my industry knowledge and I look forward to challenging and supporting management as the company develops its industry-leading position, ” said Robert Hobbs.

“Robert brings with him a unique combination of management and industry experience. He will be highly valuable to Shearwater as we transit from acquisition and integration mode to fully focus on operations and delivering the best possible service to our customers and value creation for all our stakeholders,” said Irene Waage Basili , the CEO of Shearwater GeoServices.
