A pump from Bell Dredging Pumps B.V. was used recently in the construction of an offshore wind farm in the North Sea.

The Dutch dredging specialist has just released this beautiful video of a custom Bell 250 dredge pump with double cutter head that is dredging tubular piles at 80 meters deep.

According to Bell, dredging had to be done under some of the most challenging conditions as these piles form the foundation for offshore wind turbines in the North Sea.

Under the project, the Double cutter 250 was used to empty foundation piles up to 80 meters under water, with a diameter of 4 meters. It can remove sand, gravel, stones and clay.

The waterjet ring was also used to clean the inside of the foundation piles.
