LNG exports from the three liquefaction plants located on Curtis Island off Gladstone reached 1.98 million tons of LNG in October.
The volume was spread across 30 cargoes, data from the Gladstone Ports Corporation shows.
Compared to the corresponding month in 2018, when the three facilities exported a total of 1.92 million tons on 29 carriers, this represents a 3.1 percent increase.
Compared to the previous month, when the three facilities exported a total of 1.91 million tons of LNG onboard 29 tankers, this is a 3.66 percent jump.
China keeps the top spot as the main importer of Australian LNG with 1.38 mt landing at Chinese import facilities.
The remaining volumes landed in South Korea (285,179 tons), Japan (127,836 tons), Singapore (123,928) and Malaysia (63,251 tons), the data shows.
So far this year, the three facilities shipped a total of 18.33 million tons of LNG, with the majority, 13.2 million tons landing in China.
The LNG export plants located on Curtis Island include Shell’s Queensland Curtis LNG, Santos Gladstone LNG, and the ConocoPhillips-operated Australia Pacific LNG terminal.
