Siemens Gamesa Hires Wiking Choppers for East Anglia ONE

Wiking Helikopter Service GmbH has signed a multi-year contract with Siemens Gamesa to support wind turbine maintenance on the East Anglia ONE wind farm offshore UK. Wiking Helikopter Service GmbH has signed a multi-year contract with Siemens Gamesa to support wind turbine maintenance on the East Anglia ONE wind farm offshore UK.

Wiking will provide helicopter hoist operations for service technicians and material to Siemens Gamesa’s 102 7MW wind turbines onsite for maintenance services.

“As the leading helicopter / hoist operations service provider in Europe, we are proud to again build with this partnership on our 45 years aviation experience supporting our wind offshore as well our oil and gas customers.”

The soon-to-commence flight operations will allow Siemens Gamesa to begin timely maintenance Service Level Agreements, Wiking said.

Flights will operate with Airbus Helicopters H145 aircraft, departing from Wiking’s newest UK base in Beccles, to the East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm 43 kilometres off the coast.
