Jan De Nul’s jack-up vessel Vole au vent has completed the installation of all monopile foundations at the Northwester 2 offshore wind project, a spokesperson from Parkwind told Offshore WIND.

According to Parkwind, Vole au vent completed the installation of all 23 monopiles on 13 November and is currently preparing for the installation of turbines.

The vessel installed the first foundation at the site on 30 July, within one month after the start of the offshore construction works.

Northwester 2 will comprise 23 MHI Vestas V164-9.5MW turbines, making it the first wind farm to feature this turbine model.

The 219MW offshore wind farm, which is being constructed some 50km north-west of Oostende in Belgium, will be operational by 2020.
