The City of Newport Beach will host a meeting on the Lower Newport Harbor Channel Dredging and Confined Aquatic Disposal Construction on December 4 at Friends Meeting Room, 1000 Avocado Avenue, Newport Beach, California.

The goal of the proposed project is to improve navigation in Newport Harbor and identify a safe and effective disposal location to managed dredged sediments.

The project consists of the construction of a Confined Aquatic Disposal (CAD) facility as a solution for sediment dredged from within Lower Newport Harbor that is not suitable for open ocean placement or nearshore disposal.

To evaluate the environmental issues and alternatives for the project, the City of Newport Beach will be preparing an Environmental Impact Report.
