Aberdeen-based engineering company Subsea Technologies Ltd (STL) said it has recently secured a contract to build and supply a subsea crossover and stinger.

The contract from an undisclosed client, set a challenging time schedule for delivery, however, STL said that this was overcome by its experienced projects team understanding where the specialist materials can be acquired and machined with minimal time slippage.

“With the supply chain creating its own challenges by running so lean, the off-the-shelf-materials options are very limited. STL’s experience ensures all risks are identified with our client to mitigate any delivery time slippage where possible.

“It’s also pleasing to see STL clients recognising the value of having experienced project management teams delivering these smaller manufacturing projects ,” said Shane Jakeman , STL VP.

STL, part of Helix Energy Solutions Group, plans to deliver this equipment in early 2020.

Financial details surrounding the deal have not been disclosed.
