Offshore drilling contractor Transocean has been awarded a one-year contract off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago for the semi-submersible rig Development Driller III.
The contract is expected to start in the second quarter 2020, Transocean said on Thursday.
It will contribute approximately $91 million of contract backlog, excluding mobilization reimbursement.
Transocean has not revealed the name of the client nor any further details about the contract.
According to the rig owner’s latest fleet status report, the Development Driller III is currently under contract with ExxonMobil in Equatorial Guinea .
The deal started in February 2019 and is scheduled to end in February 2020. The dayrate is $192,000.
The Development Driller III is a semi-sub rig of a KFELS MSC Gusto DSS51 design built in 2009 by KeppelFELS in Singapore.
