Norwegian shipping company Eidesvik Offshore has been awarded a one-year contract extension with Ithaca Oil and Gas for the supply vessel Viking Princess.
The beginning of the extension will be in direct continuation of the current contract expiring in early January 2020.
To remind, the Viking Princess has been under contract with Chevron in the North Sea since January 2018. In June 2019, Chevron exercised its option to extend the contract for Viking Princess by six months.
Meanwhile, Ithaca entered into an agreement with Chevron to acquire Chevron’s North Sea business $2 billion. The deal was completed last November , resulting in Ithaca taking over Chevron’s North Sea fields.
In a statement, Jan Fredrik Meling , CEO of Eidesvik said, “We are very pleased that our client extends our working relationship and consider it a quality mark for our operation & services delivered.”
The Viking Princess vessel was built in 2012 by Kleven Verft in Norway. In October 2017, Finland’s Wärtsilä installed a hybrid energy storage solution on Viking Princess.
