The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved funding for the Tennet South-West 380KV West grid project in the Netherlands.

EIB will provide around EUR 250 million in funding for the project valued at around EUR 509 million.

The TenneT South-West 380KV West comprises the construction of the electricity transmission corridor connecting Borsselle to Rilland, in the south of the Netherlands.

It includes a new 380kV line from Borssele to Rilland substations, a new 380kV substation at Rilland, extension works at Borssele substation, as well as the works on the 150kV part of the same circuit.

One of the objectives of the project is to enable the transportation of energy from onshore and offshore wind farms to the Dutch grid.
