Australian major Woodside said its unit, Woodside Energy Trading Singapore signed a long-term LNG sale and purchase agreement with Uniper Commodities.

Under the new agreement, Woodside will supply LNG to Uniper for a 13-year term starting in 2021, the company said in its statement.

The quantity of LNG to be supplied under the SPA will initially be up to 0.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), increasing to approximately 1 Mtpa from 2025.

Woodside further noted that supply from 2025 is conditional upon a final investment decision on the Scarborough development.

The sale and purchase agreement follows the heads of agreement Woodside and Uniper signed in September 2019.
