Three injured in fire on Pemex platform in Gulf of Mexico

Three people were injured in a fire on the Pemex-operated offshore platform, located in the Southern Gulf of Mexico, on Tuesday.

The fire broke out on the Akal-C6 platform in the Bay of Campeche, Pemex said on Twitter on Tuesday.

The three injured workers were transferred to Ciudad del Carmen.

According to the company, the incident was confined to the west side of the platform. Personnel on the platform as well as two vessels participated in the extinguishing of the fire.

Pemex also added that, after the fire was extinguished, the platform continued normal operations. The company will investigate the cause of the incident.

Cabe mencionar que luego del control del siniestro se retomaron las actividades en la plataforma Akal-C 6 y opera con normalidad. Pemex investigará la causa-raíz que originó este evento.
