Dutch heavy lifting and transportation company Mammoet has created what it claims to be the ‘largest global provider of engineered heavy lifting and transport services’ after closing the acquisition of UK rival firm ALE.

Mammoet agreed to buy UK rival firm ALE for an undisclosed amount back in July 2019.
In an update on Wednesday, Mammoet said that the acquisition of ALE was closed on January 8, 2020, and that the businesses would continue to operate as one company under the Mammoet brand.
The company added that a fully developed integration plan would be rolled out over the coming months.
The combined business will have over 140 offices and branches worldwide ensure proximity to the world’s most important industrial and urban areas.
Paul van Gelder , Mammoet CEO, said: “We are looking forward to working together with our new colleagues all over the world and establishing long term relationships with our customers, existing and new.”
Mammoet claims that its combined team of professionals as well as its fleet of heavy equipment are now the world’s largest.
It is also worth noting that Michael Birch , until now a member of ALE’s executive board of management, joined Mammoet’s executive board which now has six members.
